Saying good bye.

Our last pic of Tiger. Wes wanted a selfie with him.

We said good-bye to our cat Tiger yesteday. He was only about 4 years old. At our last house he showed up as a stray and the girls batted their eyes and Sean agreed that we could keep him...even though he said we would never have any cats. Well he had a 2 1/2 years with us. I really anticipated having him a lot longer...don't most cats live like at least 15 years or something?? So I thought.

A few months ago we thought he got in a cat fight because he came home with an open wound...turns out it was a ruptured tumor. We had it removed and tested and it was a fast moving cancer. The tumor came back and he was having a rough time. I hate that...and the girls and I have been a mess. The only thing they want for their upcoming birthdays is another cat, but unfortunately Tiger will probably be our last cat.

We had quiet a few good times with him over the past few years...I am going to link to a previous blog post that I wrote about him last year.

Baby Landon!

We found out what we were having last week!  Many asked if we cared what we were having.  The kids had strong opinions.  Neither Sean nor I really cared.  Both sexes have their pro's and con's...but we really were neutral.

My mom warned me, to not trust the ultrasound results, because we have had some friends who had the wrong results.  Well yes, there is always a change of mistakes...and if there was a mistake in our case, we would still welcome a girl, however when the ultrasound tech put the little camera on the baby, she asked us if we could tell what it was...yep it was pretty obvious.  Even if we were not planning on finding out...it was CLEAR in many shots that it was a boy.  So we will see if it was something else floating out there, if you know what I mean.

We figured out a girl name right away, but went back and forth on boy names.  We sat down earlier this week and Sean had me write down all of the possibilities.  He came up with the name "Landon" and it kind of grew on me.  I do not know any other Landon's personally---so that helps.  Teaching has ruled out some name choices.  We have had a few people that have expressed their dislike towards the name...we don't really care.  Is that rude?  I think it is rude asking us to reconsider our name choice.

Anywho....I wanted to tell the kids somehow in a fun  way.  The girls came up with a cupcake idea.  We have participated in it before, so that is what we did.  My friend, Christina, makes cupcakes, so she made 6 girl cupcakes and 6 boy cupcakes.  She marked the girl ones with pearls so I knew which were which.  They were really yummy!

When we got home from a nice afternoon out, we had the kids bite into the cupcakes.  I knew that at least one little girl was not going to be happy, but I really didn't expect this reaction:

I am 22 weeks along today.  I have gotten 3 due dates, but in my mind...the baby will be here, when the baby is ready to be here.  So I am not too stressed out about it.  I would rather take later over earlier.  So my due date has been September 29th, September 30th, and October 4th.  So we shall see.  I would like to make it to October 10th.

Here are some fun pics from our ultrasound.  We don't do the 3D ones.  Not sure if that was even an option.  I didn't ask.

I love this pic--it is the front of his nose and mouth!

I love this leg shot!
Arms in front of face
Yep it is a boy!

Here is a pic of me from before church.  Thanks Christina for selling a whole bunch of cute summer dresses!  Much more comfortable than pants!  Yay for Summer!
I am so not photogenic at all!

Spring Co-op review!

We finished our spring co-op classes last week! I absolutely love co-op and so do our kids! They love seeing their friends in an extra activity and love learning new things. We can not wait until next Fall---I will be set to deliver a baby and probably deliver during the session. Good thing I have some moms that are always willing to pitch in to keep things going!

This semester my kids each took 2 classes.

The boys were in a preschool & kindergarten class. The took a Safety 101 class and learned about God's creation through legos.

Katelyn learned took a Music & PE class and an Art class.

Jocelyn took a Music & PE class and a Lewis & Clarke class.

My kids were not old enough for the Biology, Drama, and Greek classes...but one of these days!

After our final class we had a program where the kids presented what they learned in class. They sang, did skits, and put on a drama act. We then had a taco bar potluck!

So much fun! I will miss this group, but we will look forward to seeing everyone over the summer or in the fall!

Here are a few videos from the program!

Easton is 6!

I can not believe Easton is 6 today!

He loves hunting, shooting his guns, fishing, riding his bike, camping, playing with friends, fixing things, catching bugs, swimming, and doing anything with grandpa and dad.

If you know Easton he is a firecracker! He has so much energy he sometimes can hardly contain himself. He is a sweetheart most of the time and always wants to be helpful!

Happy Birthday Easton! I hope you gave a great day and fun time celebrating with friends!

Learning about a few new things:)

Kids are like little sponges (sometimes)! I love that there are so many things in our community, as well as in surrounding communities, where they can learn about new things. This week (with the exception of "normal" school stuff), the kids learned a few new things.

With one of our home school groups we took a field trip to The Grain Place. It is a local manufacturer of organic grains and seeds. This may seem like a boring place to go, but we all thought it was pretty fascinating.

We first got a tour of the farm. They actually do not farm a lot of land, but rely on farmers from all over the world.

We then got to see how at the manufacturing takes place at the plant. In addition to the product that The Grain Place makes and packages, they also send things off to well known companies like Kellogg's and some pet supply companies.

The kids got hungry near the end of the tour, but afterwards we enjoyed a beautiful picnic at the park. The Grain Place even sent our group home with two yummy bags of their popcorn! Such a fun, fun day!

The second thing that my kids learn how to do was rollerskate. I have been extremely nervous about taking them because of the fear of the unknown. Katelyn attempted to rollerskate when she was five years old and that was a five-minute nightmare. I was not sure I wanted to relive that. Sean ended up coming along and help the kids learn how to skate. He did not want me to skate, because I am pregnant but I ended up putting on some skates and slowly made my way around the rink a few times. All in all we had a great time with friends and the kids (and Sean) can't wait to go back!

Easton did skate..but I got a pic right before he left.
