This past week has gotten me thinking a lot about death. I know…a sad topic. My husband lost a close employee and my uncle
passed away this morning. This is a time
where someone…like me…naturally thinks about where I will be going after I
die.
Did you know that it is possible to know whether you have everlasting life?
I know for sure where I will be going.
Do you?
Did you know that, according to the Bible, if you repent your sins (feel
regret or remorse for them) and receive Jesus Christ into your life as your
Lord and Savior, you will be saved from eternal punishment in Hell when you
die?
Christ did an amazing thing for us at the cross. He died.
For us. For ALL of us. So that we could be saved from our sins. He forgives us of our sins. We are ALL sinners. He makes no distinction between famous and
the unknown, the rich and the poor, the unselfish hero or the repentant murderer.
People will not go to Heaven because of their good deeds,
nor to Hell because of their sins. And this is a good thing, because if people
went to Hell because of their sins, everyone would go there. So God
has made a way of escape for us.
***Admit that you are sinner.***
The Bible says, “For all have sinner and come short of the
glory of God.” Romans 3:23
***Know that God has already provided for your salvation.***
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his
only begotten Son [Jesus Christ] that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish but have everlasting life”. John
3:16
***Know that you cannot save yourself.***
The Bible says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to his mercy he saved us.”
Titus 3:5
Righteousness does NOT come by the law and good works and
rituals prescribed by false religions.
The Bible warns us about false religions….religions of man.
***Repent of your sins.***
The Bible says, “Except ye repent ye shall all likewise
perish.” Luke 13:3
***Ask Jesus Christ to save you.***
The Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13
“Believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved” (Acts 16:31).
“If thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness: and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:9, 10.
- Talk to God in prayer every day.
- Tell others about Christ.
- Join a Bible-believing church and get baptized. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church that truly believes the Bible and where Christ is preached.
The
Lord Jesus Christ made no promises that you will have an easy life. In fact, the Bible teaches that those who
live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
“If
you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thy
heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. Romans 10:9
No one else can get us into heaven. Once we die…that is it. It is too late. No one can pray for our salvation after the
fact. Our salvation has already been
decided…and it is up to us. Not a
priest, prophet, other false Gods or whoever else people worship.
You don’t need to be in the presence of
anyone else in order to be saved. You
can get saved…right now….in your car…home….shower….wherever.
It is o.k. to leave what you have known your whole life.
Do it before it is too late.
